Almuhtada.org – This is the story about Khabbab bin Arats who was prayed by Rasulullah because he often tortured by his master. Even Allah punished the friend of the Prophet with a strange and terrible disease.
Khabbab is one of Rasullah’s frend. He convert to Islam in the early of prophethood.
He was called Khabbab because he was known as a blacksmith and weapons maker in Mecca. Khabbab was among those who experienced the most suffering and torture when he converted to Islam. But he stayed patient and keep his faith and beliefs.
Khabbab has showed his strength, so that his heart wouldn’t be affected by kafir people. They put a burning stone on his back until his skin peeled off. The many acts of violence he received made Khabbab complain to the Prophet.
He said, “One day we met the Prophet near the Ka’bah and said, ‘O Prophet, don’t you want to ask help for us?”
Rasulullah then sat down, his face became red, then he said “Before you, there was a man who was tortured, his body was buried except for the neck up. Then a saw was taken to saw off his head, but no amount of torture could turn him away from his religion.
Another man was brushed between his meat and bones with an iron brush, and nothing could shake his faith. Indeed, Allah will complete this, so that every traveler who travels from Shana’a to Hadlramaut will have no fear except of Allah, the Almighty.”
Rasulullah’s answer didn’t made khabbab’s believes loosen up, instead it increases.
However, Nabi Muhammad have came and he then prayed seeing the torture who was recieved by Khabbab.
The story is told when the Quraysh asked their former owner Ummi Ammar to persuade Khabbab to leave Islam. Umm Ammar agreed to do so by using the path of dialog to violence. Even the woman participated in torturing Khabbab. It is mentioned that Ummi Ammar took a hot iron that was burning, then put it on Khabbab’s head and top. No doubt Khabbab was squirming in pain.
One day Rasulullah passed by khabbah who was tortured by Ummu Ammar.
Seeing what happened, Rasulullah felt bad and began to pray, “O Allah, grant your help to Khabbab!” So after a few days Umm Ammar got her payback.
She was affected by a strange and terrible disease. According to historians Ummu Anmar often howled like a dog. Then some people gave her advice.
Among the advice was to iron his head with a burning iron every day. And his head was burned every day and night with a hot iron. That is the punishment of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. [] Fahdina Dean Yustisia
