Almuhtada.org – Many people in this era choose a partner that is a good looking and treasure merely. Even though in Islam it s forbidden, we have to accept it, without looking at their bad appearance and wealth.
“Indeed, Allah does not look at your looks and wealth. Instead, Allah only looks at your hearts and your deeds,” (HR Muslim).
Like Prophet’s friend story who have bad appreance who was matched by a beautiful woman. Here is the story below.
In the past, there is Prophet;s friend name Julaibib RA. He was born without knowing who his parents is. For the people of that era, a person with no bloodline was a shame. Julaibib had a physical appearance that was almost ugly, so because of his ugly appearance it was rare for anyone to approach him.
Julaibib was a person who was very devoted to Allah and His Messenger, he was also one of the soldiers of the war of the prophet Muhammad. Although many people excluded him but not the Prophet Muhammad. Once after praying the Prophet had called him. “Julaibib, don’t you want to get married?” asked the Prophet gently while smiling at him. “Who is the person who wants to marry his daughter to me, O Messenger of Allah?” replied Julaibib with a smile. Then the Prophet answered him with a smile.
Julibib realized he had nothing and according to him there was no one who wanted to marry his son for him. The next day the Prophet Muhammad met Julaibib again, then the Prophet again asked Julaibib “Julaibib, don’t you want to get married?” with the same answer Julaibib answered the Prophet’s question. Until finally the prophet Muhammad pulled Julaibib’s hand and invited him to a house of the Anshar leader who was known to have a very beautiful child.
Arriving at the house of the Anshar leader, the Prophet Muhmmad met the father of the beautiful woman and the Prophet said. “I want to marry your daughter,” said the Prophet to the owner of the house. Seeing the words of the Prophet who wanted to marry his daughter the Anshar leader was happy “How beautiful and how blessed,” the Anshar leader replied with a happy face, thinking that the Prophet was his future son-in-law. “O Prophet, this will really be a light that removes the darkness in our house.”
“But not for me, but for Julaibib,” said the Prophet. The Ansar leader was shocked to learn that his daughter would be married to an ugly man whose name was unknown and immediately said that he should consider his wife. “Yes Rasulullah. I must ask my wife’s consideration about this,” said the leader of Anshar.
“With Julaibib?”, his wife replied, ”How? Julaibib has an ugly face, no surname, no family, no status, and no wealth. By Allah, no. Our daughter will never marry Julaibib”.
Hearing the argument the beautiful woman, the daughter of the Ansar leader, came out and said “Who is asking?” Then the father and the mother explained. This beautiful woman was indeed known to be religiously knowledgeable.
“Do you want to refuse the Messenger of Allah’s request? By Allah, send me to him. And by Allah, since it is the Prophet who is requesting, there will be no ruin and no loss for me”. The righteous woman then recited the verse (which means): “And it is not right for believing men and believing women, when Allah and His Rasul have made a decision, that there should be for them another choice about their matters. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger then indeed he has gone wrong, a real wrongdoing”. (QS. Al-Ahzab: 36)
Hearing the answer from the beautiful and righteous woman, the prophet Muhammad bowed down and prayed for the woman. “O Allah, grant her favor, in blessed plenty. Don’t make her life hard and troubled,”
Then the prayer of the Prophet Muhammad was true. Soon Allah granted him a way out. Togetherness in the world was not destined to be too long. Although in the world the wife is righteous and devout, but the angel has missed Julaibib in Heaven for too long. Julaibib, the Prophet’s friend who had a bad face, deserved to live in heaven more than the world that was unfriendly to him. [] Fahdina Dean Yustisia
