Qadzaf is Accusing Someone of Adultery
Accusing others without evidence is a big sin in Islam. Qadzaf is accusing someone of adultery. Check out the explanation in the following article.
The definition of qadzaf is accusing another mukallaf (an adult according to the law) of adultery or liwath, by revealing their shame or denying someone’s bloodline based on indications of such acts, but without providing evidence or witnesses.
The Law of Qadzaf
Qadzaf is one of the big sins. If a mukallaf cannot prove his words, then he must serve the criminal penalty for qadzaf, which is 80 times of whipping and his statements will not be accepted forever. This is in accordance with the word of Allah SWT which is the basis of the law of qadzaf in Islam.
Meaning:
“And those who accuse good women (of adultery) and do not bring four witnesses, whip them (the accusers) eighty times, and never accept their statement forever. They are the ones who are wicked.” (An-Nuur/24:4).
The Pleasures of the Hadith
Here are the lessons learned from the hadeeth (punishment) of qadzah, which are:
– To keep cleanliness, respect, and honor of a Muslim.
– To keep the purity of society from the spread of adultery and bad morals among Muslims who are a straight and clean community.
Qadzaf is the act of accusing someone of adultery, which is considered a big sin. Allah the Almighty labels the person who commits this act as a sinner, removes their status as ‘righteous,’ and obliges the person to be punished with qadzah. [Fahdina Dean Yustisia]
