almuhtada.org – Islam is the religion that most privileges women. A religion that explains in detail the role of women in it, we can see from the many traditions and verses of the Qur’an that discuss this matter.
However, there are many women who do not know how valuable they are in Islam. In fact, many of them today have lowered their own status, even though Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam has raised their status.
Women are like diamonds. The most expensive thing and can only be owned by certain people. Many are targeting and favoring it because of its excellent and very good quality.
However, becoming a diamond is not an easy thing. There are so many processes that must be passed in order to become something very expensive, we must be willing to sacrifice in it. For example, leaving things that are forbidden by Allah.
Abandoning what Allah has forbidden is not an easy task. There are many distractions and temptations from the devil that make us more likely to follow them, especially now that modern times have a lot of bad influence on women. Diamond women here are not ordinary women, diamond women are salihah women. A woman who is able to maintain her honor and cover her body.
However, in modern times there are very few salihah women. It is very clear that many women are involved in this temporal world. Even more so, women are no longer ashamed to show off their bodies in front of non-mahrams.
In fact, women are the easiest creatures of Allah to enter His paradise, and Allah even gives the privilege of paradise on the palm of a mother’s feet (woman). The following are the privileges and honors of a righteous woman in the Qur’an and hadith:
- Found in the Qur’an surah Al-Ahzab verse 59:
Meaning: “O Prophet, Tell your wives, your daughters, and the wives of the believers: Let them spread their hijab over their whole body. That is so that they may be more easily recognized, so that they may not be harassed. And Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.”
In this verse, Allah greatly privileges women. Allah does not allow women to make their bodies a spectacle for men who are not their mahrams. Allah commanded His Prophet to call the believing women, especially his wives and daughters, to remember the honor they have as members of the Prophet’s family.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) revealed this verse because many women were harassed by hypocritical men at the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and by wearing a hijab, women would be better protected if they went out at night. At the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), women often went out at night to relieve themselves.
- The righteous woman is the best jewelry of the world.
As the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) narrated by Muslim from Abdullah ibn Amr, meaning: “The world is an accessory, and the best jewelry of the world is a righteous wife.” Allah created women along with their beauty from head to toe. That beauty can not only be judged from the physical alone, but also the heart and mind. As an accessory, it should be guarded and cared for.
- A righteous woman is better than the angels of Paradise.
Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam said, which means: “A human woman from this world is better than an angel from Paradise 70,000 times over.” From this Hadīth, Allah, the Almighty, has highly favored women. Even the angels of Paradise will be less than the righteous women of this world. It is the good deeds of these blessed women that make them more honorable than the angels of Paradise.
Ibn Mubarok narrated from Hibban bin Abi Jabbalah. He said: “Indeed, the women of this world who enter Paradise are better than the women of Paradise because of the deeds they did while in this world.”
Imam Ibn ‘Uthaymeen explained: The righteous women of this world, the wives, are better than the angels of the Hereafter because they are more beautiful and beloved by their husbands. This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said that the first group to enter Paradise is like the moonlight on a full night.
- Can enter Paradise from any door
“If a woman performs the five daily prayers, fasts during Ramadan, guards her private parts, and obeys her husband, it will be said to her: “Enter Paradise from whichever door you wish.” (narrated by Ahmad from ‘Abdur-Rahmaan ibn ‘Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) and declared hasan by Shaykh al-Albany.
The Prophet explained that righteous women can enter Paradise from any door if they fulfill the following four criteria: Performing the five daily prayers, fasting during Ramadan, avoiding adultery, and being faithful to her husband.
- Paradise is on the feet of the mother.
As the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Paradise is under the feet of the mothers; whom they will, they will put in, and whom they will, they will take out.” Imam Ibn ‘Addi said that Musa ibn Muhammad Al-Maqdisi is a munkarul hadith.
This hadith was also narrated by Imam Abu Bakr Ash-Shafi’i in Ar-Ruba’iyyat, Imam Abu Ash-Shaykh in Al-Fawaid, Imam Al-Qudha’i in Musnad Ash-Shihab, and Imam Ad-Daulabi on the authority of Anas ibn Malik (r.a).
From the many privileges that Allah, the Almighty, has given to women, many of us still take them for granted. Shouldn’t these privileges make us diamond women? However, it is not uncommon for most of us to choose to be cheap. Why not be cheap? We expose ourselves on social media just to gain popularity among men. Many of us also choose to date, even though Islam has regulated taaruf in terms of romance.
Therefore, let us protect and make ourselves as Muslim women. Women who guard the privileges that Allah, the Almighty, has given us. And keep ourselves safe from the things that ignorant women do. Such as adultery, wearing jewelry, and wearing flashy clothes. [Fahdina Deean]
